Francis R. OSSWALD is a senior scientist with 30 years of experience in the design, development and management of projects in the field of nuclear physics instrumentation, neutrino production, and hadrontherapy. He joined the Centre National de Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) in 1987, where he is currently working as a project leader, responsible for the design and development of scientific instruments for different national and international projects at the Institut Pluridisciplinaire Hubert Curien (IPHC) in Strasbourg. He is an expert in the field of accelerator science and technology and his research and development is currently devoted to beam transport with large acceptance/low losses, beam manipulation, and instrumentation such as high-resolution emittance measurement.
